NORDIC CARE - Thyra, Designer Linda Evensen

We turned to the Norwegian designer and interior architect Linda Evensen with the goal of producing a piece of furniture that she thought was missing in her everyday life. The result was a seating group that has a Scandinavian and timeless design. A piece of furniture designed for many different public environments, but which she would also like to be able to see in her own living room. A comfortable and embracing seating area, with inclusive thinking from different people and for many different environments.

But important for the series to fit into several different environments is that it also contains a number of important functions. The game with different materials and textures to create tactility has been important. That the seating group is perceived as generous , precisely so that so many different people can sit comfortably and easily get in and out. Of course, it has been important from the beginning to bring in the slightly harder values such as removable fabric , dirt slip and thoughtful dimensions such as seat height.

The starting point was a wooden frame, wood because the focus for NC is on wood. But also to connect to the feeling of home with the warm and lively wood. Linda saw round rods as a base, round and soft shapes that increase the feeling of home.
